Corona Virus
Sefar is a manufacturer and distributor supplying critical products to Essential Businesses in the Food, Dairy, Life Science, Pharmaceutical and Minerals industries.
We are well aware of our responsibility for protecting the health and well-being of all of our stakeholders. In line with this, we have a range of measures in place to ensure that our production and distribution activities can continue whilst limiting the risk of Covid-19 entering or being transmitted through our business.
A vital element of our approach has been to encourage all Sefar personnel to become fully vaccinated. We are very pleased to advise you that 100% of our members of the team are now fully vaccinated. This is helping us not only reduce the likelihood of contracting Covid-19, but also to reduce the severity of any symptoms, and minimize the risk of further transmission.
With the Government’s recent change in Covid-19 strategy from elimination to long-term management, we have reviewed the controls we have in place to ensure they continue to provide the highest level of Covid-19 protection that can reasonably be achieved. An outcome of this review is that we have made a change to our Covid-19 Response Policy that applies to all contractors and visitors entering our sites in Oceania.
From 1 December 2021, contractor and visitor entry to our Huntingwood/Sydney, Wangara/Perth and Mt Wellington/Auckland sites will be restricted to people who are fully vaccinated against Covid-19 (two doses of the Pfizer/Astra Zeneca vaccine or equivalent). When planning a visit to our site you will be required to inform your Sefar contact of your vaccination status. Visitors entering Sefar sites will be required to show documentary proof of vaccination on request. We regret that entry to our sites may be denied if proof of vaccination cannot be shown to our reasonable satisfaction. This is a key step in keeping our people and business protected from the risk of Covid-19.
We understand that some remain uncertain about vaccination, do not wish to get vaccinated, or are not able to get vaccinated for medical reasons. Through our policy, we aim to manage the risks these choices create.
Should a situation arise where we need to permit entry to someone who is not fully vaccinated, specific measures will be implemented to manage the risk. These may include providing evidence of a negative Covid-19 test result prior to site entry and/or the use of additional personal protective equipment.
Thank you for your support and understanding as we implement our updated Covid-19 workplace health and safety measures. If you would like to discuss our policy further, please reach out to your usual Sefar contact.
